Combining Documentary and Traditional styles to offer Commercial Wedding Photography Sydney.
As a Commercial Wedding Photographer in Sydney, I offer a modern and fresh photography style. I shoot most of the ceremony coverage, reception and speeches in a documentary style but I think it is also important to incorporate elements of a traditional style.
Documentary wedding photography is basically about capturing the wedding day with the viewpoint of an observer. It is liked by a lot of clients who would rather enjoy the wedding day with their friends and family while the photographer captures the essence of the wedding. I work unobtrusively and capture the candid photos of the bride and groom getting ready, the little details and capture moments filled with emotions. And there are those mandatory shots of little flower girl or little kid in the corner among some which we all like.
At the other spectrum we have the traditional wedding photography which aims to cover the whole day in a standard traditional way. A lot of arrangement and traditional posing can be involved. There is nothing wrong with this style of photography as well but more people are preferring the documentary style over a fully traditional style these days.
An experienced traditional style wedding photographer always has a repertoire of getting ready, bridal portraits, details, ceremony, the couple photos and group photos and they always look beautiful and looks exactly what its supposed to look like – wedding photographs.
My style of photography which combine qualities of both the documentary and traditional wedding photography is a great option who would like a bit of a semi-formal portraits, a few romantic bride and groom without a lot of still posing and group shots as well most of the wedding covered in a true documentary style.
